Fitting/installation:
Our gear knobs are simple to install, firmly locked in place by either 1 or 3 small securing (depending on the style of gear knob) screws to the gear shaft. This means that our gear knobs can be installed to both screw fit and push fit type fitments.
Vehicles with lift up reverse may have a plastic gaiter boot retainer/collar located between the gaiter and gear knob. A small hole may need to be drilled through this collar to allow the wires for the LED gear knob to pass through down to the center console.
On vehicles with standard reverse, the gaiter is secured to the bottom of the gear knob, leaving a nice flush finish with no gap between the gear knob and gaiter.
To power the LED backlight on the gear knob, the power will need to be sourced from a suitable outlet by connecting to your vehicle’s backlight/dash lighting circuit. A common suitable power source is the cigarette lighter if it is backlit and illuminates with your interior dash lighting.
